On a journey… There is a lot involved. I say “Keep Going” often. It’s in my heart. It’s in my heart. It’s a guide. It’s not something new. I look and I see my picture and social media memories,
and I’ve been saying “Keep Going” or some version of it for about 10 years now. I see “Forward Motion,” “Stay in Motion, “Onward.” … I’ve always had some version of continuing on in my heart. But we’re on a journey and so we must keep going.
What KEEP GOING may look like: When we SAY this, we probably SEE motion. We see feet going. A trot maybe. But let’s be real. A rest. A pause to look around and see where you are. Stopping. Not even stopping to start something or think about what may be next. But stopping. “I gotta catch my breath,” or “I need a minute to do NOTHING!” It can be planning, organizing, asking, or a reboot. It’s all a part of the journey.
I want to rest right here at “Keep Going” for a moment. I want to dig into it and break it down a bit because it’s not cliche. It’s not marketing. It’s not something cute that I say. It doesn’t even belong to me. It’s actually the Word of God…
Ecclesiastes 9:11 – Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
Matthew 24: 13-14 – But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Galatians 5:7-8 – You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
Genesis 12:1 – Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you…
Hebrews 12:1 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 – Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
Isaiah 40:29-31 – He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
**Psalm 119:1-3, 10, 19, 105**
I could truly go on and on… And I will. Stay tuned and keep going as we…
Keep going y’all.
